Listen :: The District Attorneys – Waiting on the Calm Down: The Basement Sessions EP

Atlanta-based The District Attorneys have a new EP available for free on their bandcamp page. It’s must download for sure.

Waiting on the Calm Down: The Basement Sessions contains five original tracks and one cover the band has been working on while preparing to get into the studio next month. The EP combines everything awesome about surf pop, rock and Americana. My favorite tracks on the EP are the slow banger “Worry About Your Health” and the twangy rock track “The End.” Check it out below, then head on over to their bandcamp and get the whole thing. Did I mention it’s free? Well, it’s free.

The District Attorneys are playing a couple of shows in the next couple of weeks. First, they’ll be at the Masquerade (purgatory) on Friday, November 4. And on Saturday, November 5 at the Melting Point in Athens, GA.

Listen :: Mutual Benefit – I Saw The Sea

I Saw The Sea is the latest EP from lovely crooner Mutual Benefit aka Jordan Lee. If I could use one word to describe this EP I would use the word peaceful. Have you ever been in the middle of woods, just walking around or sitting on a tree stump? Did you stop and listen to the noises happening around you? Well, this is what I Saw The Sea sounds like, nature.

Lee mixes gorgeous harmonies with unique drumming and electronics to create a truly original sound. And it features Katie Pierce on violin and Andrew Morehart. This EP goes well with a rainy, spring day. It’s relaxing and easy to listen to. I Saw The Sea is beautiful.

Band Crush :: Sunny Ali and The Kid

A couple of days ago Philly-based blogger Mark of  Yvynyl updated the Internet about this new EP available for download. Because I love discovering new music and because I trust Yvynyl, I clicked the link. What I found was Sunny Ali and The Kid and I can’t get enough. Seriously.
Sunny Ali and The Kid are a Philly-based kind of country, kind of punk and whole lot of awesome band. They recently released a digital EP called Try Harder, which you can download here. It’s available for free, but the band does accept donations, which I recommend you do because according to Mark they are great live. Monies = Tour. That’s what I’m talking about. Also, if it’s good (and it is pretty darn good) it’s worth buying.
Check out these tracks below, they are my favorites from the EP.

The Best For You

I’ve seriously had this EP on repeat for the past two days. I love it.
