Listen :: Quiet Company

I recently got the chance to catch Quiet Company again in Atlanta at the Drunken Unicorn and as always, they were quite incredible. The Austin-based five-piece brings high, intense energy and classiness (see ties, vests, etc.) to the stage. If you haven’t seen them live, I highly recommend catching a show the next time they pass through your city. You won’t be disappointed.

Back in April Quiet Company rereleased their 2006 debut, Shine Honestly. Of course, this isn’t your run of the mill rerelease. Taylor Muse and company rerecorded all 12 tracks to reflect how they’ve grown over the past 7+ years and recorded two bonus tunes, “…And You Said it Was Pretty Here” and “Gun Control Means Using Both Hands.” Listen below and watch the video for the track, “The Emasculated Man and the City That Swallowed Him.”

You can order this amazing album here (color vinyl, y’all) as well as their other stellar releases.

Y’all should be friends…

Listen :: Small Reactions – Michael J. Foxworthy

So, Small Reactions is one of my favorite bands and they have a new-to-our-ears track that you should hear called “Michael J. Foxworthy.” It was recorded by Luciano Giarrano at The Cottage in East Atlanta and according to a letter posted on the band’s bandcamp (you should read it), it was created after the band nearly called it quits in 2010. I’m so glad they didn’t.

Turn the speakers up real loud and push play. Rinse and repeat.

Full length is coming soon, definitely be on the lookout for that.

Atlanta’s Evan Andree is mixing it up with his latest 3-song EP, Invisible Sap. It’s a nice change of pace from his previous efforts, definitely worth a listen or five. Check out “Your Song” below. I absolutely love this track, from beginning to end from the vocals & to the warm guitar sound. It’s easy to get lost in this sweet jam.

Listen :: Soft Continent – Sleeping at the Wheel

I don’t exactly know what it is about this 2-song release from Atlanta’s own Soft Continent, but it’s just perfect. The track below is a lovely blend of pop melodies and country twang, it’s light and gorgeous. I’m in love with it. Listen to “Sleeping at the Wheel” below and head on over to their bandcamp and throw some dollars their way for these two fantastic tracks.
I can’t wait to hear more.
